legion outsideThe Club from the outside may not appear much to look at but as they say looks can deceive!

With ample car parking for up to approximately 20 cars on our private car park including two disabled parking bays we are able to host many people.

Inside you will find a spacious Club setting with a main room plus two side rooms - the very quiet Poppy Room (known affectionately as the Chapel of Rest) with our bespoke Poppy Themed stained glass window, and the "Back Hoil" with its plush seating and Sky Sports constantly on - from the horse racing to football, cricket and rugby league.

Inside the main room you will find two Professional standard snooker tablesSnooker Tables adjacent to the Entertainments area which also is the home of the Pool table.  With all around seating this has been the site of some memorable nights when Top 10 World Ranking players have entertained us with their skills.

Below this main room can be found an Indoor Shooting Range, run by the Colne British Legion Target Rifle Club, a well subscribed group who enter competitions locally and Nationally. Next door to them is our Bowling Lounge overlooking the wonderful Crown Green Bowling Field with stunning views out to Boulsworth Hill.  And next to the Bowling Lounge is the home of the North West Homing Society - believed to be one of Lancashire's oldest sporting groups. Regular pigeon racing competitions are organised from there and we appear to have some success.

The Club has Teams entered in local Snooker, Darts, Crown Green Bowling and Pool competitons and Leagues with no small From The Bowling Green to th Countrymeasure of success, and, effectively, we operate as a Sports Club from Monday to Thursday each week.

RelaxationRegular entertainment ensures the weekends keep the people coming into the Club and, of course, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve go down as some of the better party nights in the area. Another special day is Remembrance Sunday which the whole Colne Community gets involved with, from marching in the parade itself, or watching at The War Memorial Albert Road but, especially, the Club's doors are thrown open for the whole town to come and enjoy our facilities after all the solemnities are finished with (not known as "Doolally Sunday" for nothing you know!). And I can not forget to mention the hugely popular Bingo sessions which are held each Sunday evening. It's not Gala Bingo or the online version but I can tell you I have seen Houses pay out over £20.00 some weeks! It's the taking part and the community spirit which makes it fun.

Poppy Room

Our Poppy Room is used by many Community Groups, from the Colne Probus Society, to the local Angling Group who hold regular meetings. A local choir also use this room for their practice sessions. We like to think of ourselves as gracious hosts to those worthwhile groups who have nowhere else to meet - and long may it continue.

On a sadder note this room is also used on a regular basis for those Club Members or families who have lost loved ones and is a soothing atmosphere to meet in after funerals. Club staff can provide suitable refreshments on such occasions when requested and as arranged.

In accordance with legal requirements, non Club Members do have to be signed in as visitors, but rest assured this won't be a problem.11 11 11
